Suzy is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified School Counselor (Type 73) and a 200 Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT).
Suzy found a deep connection to psychology and its benefits, as she then transitioned to from a HS Psychology Teacher to a School Counselor. As a counselor working within the schools, she ran numerous groups, including: grief, children of transition, anger management, gender inclusion, healthy men, meditation, as well as worked closely with parents. There, Suzy created and implemented individual and group counseling for students experiencing difficulties in the traditional school setting. Seeking the opportunity to work with a wider range of people, Suzy pivoted to community and private practice. She has clinical experience with trauma, behavior disorders, personality disorders, grief, depression, and anxiety. Based on the need(s) and goal(s) of the client, Suzy exercises a variety of theoretical approaches, such Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed Therapy, CBT, and others.
Suzy is passionate about helping others with their journey. Ms. Shepard earned her B.A. in Psychology from St. Xavier University, her M.A. in Human Development Counseling from Bradley University and her Yoga Certification from Prairie Yoga.
