
Dr. Rebecca Dougherty is a psychotherapist and psychometrician who recently completed a post-doctoral fellowship working with school-aged children and is currently practicing as a post-doc fellow at The Center for Psychological Services.
Rebecca utilizes an integrative approach when working with clients incorporating family systems, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. Rebecca’s priority is to first provide clients a safe environment to build a positive relationship, where they feel comfortable to express their emotional needs. Rebecca believes therapeutic growth is made best when the client and therapist have a trusting foundation to work together and instill confidence for individual and family goals.
When Rebecca is not in session, you can find her cheering on all Chicago and Iowa sports teams or enjoying the outdoors with friends, family and her English cocker spaniel Theo.
Rebecca previously earned a Doctorate degree in clinical psychology with a clinical focus on children and adolescents from Adler University and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. Rebecca completed her clinical training at a variety of sites, including therapeutic day schools, community mental health centers and private practice. Rebecca specializes in school-aged children and their families, college-aged individuals, and individuals on the autism spectrum.
