“I believe that a different therapy must be constructed for each patient because each has a unique story.” – Irvin D. Yalom
Beanie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor as well as a certified Professional School Counselor.
For the past 12 years, Beanie has worked as a School Counselor in both elementary and high school settings. She has worked with countless children and adolescents to help them manage their emotions, interpersonal skills, and communication skills. She is also a firm believer in offering supportive strategies for families in assisting in reinforcing new techniques for their child to help improve their current level of function.
Beanie feels the best way to help people of all ages is to first create a relationship that is built upon trust. She allows a safe environment, for people to feel their pain or problem, take a good look at it, and most importantly, to heal and create resolution. Beanie uses a multimodal technique with her clients and chooses the best strategies based on what the client’s unique needs are. Children can look forward to playing games like uno and “getting to know you – Jenga ” while learning useful strategies to overcome the presenting obstacles. Older adults can expect engaging conversations where they can look at many perspectives to each hurdle, and utilize the best strategies to heal and problem solve.
Beanie attended Eastern Illinois University where she received a BS in Psychology, as well as an MA in Gerontology (study of aging and older adults). She earned her MA in Counseling at Chicago State University.
