Kathleen is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC)
Kathy believes that the therapeutic process is enhanced when treatment planning is carefully tailored to the needs of the individual. Additional key elements are a client’s intrinsic strengths, motivation for change and receptivity to intervention. She values a balanced approach which allows her to use warmth and humor while utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Client Centered Techniques and Dialectical Behavioral tools. It is her goal to provide her clients with a safe environment so they can fully participate in therapy and achieve optimal emotional wellness.
Kathleen has over eighteen years of clinical experience providing outpatient individual, group psychotherapy; much of her experience has been within the framework of the criminal justice system and private practice. She has worked with adolescents, adults, older adults, veterans and first responders. Her expertise includes treating mood disorders, complicated grief, adjustment disorder precipitated by chronic illness, accident or injury, post traumatic stress disorder, addiction, perinatal mood disorder (postpartum depression) and maternal loss.
She received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and a Master of Science (MS) in Counseling Psychology from Illinois Benedictine College. She is a wife and mother who enjoys traveling and the outdoors.
