Jim is a Relationship Enhancement Specialist with certified training from the Gottman Institute. Gottman Method Couples Therapy is a structured, goal-oriented, science-based therapy. It is based upon empirical data from the study of more than 4,000 couples that showed what works to help couples achieve a long-term healthy relationship.
Jim also works with individuals struggling with anxiety including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Jim studied and trained under Dr. Patrick McGrath at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital. Anxiety is characterized by irrational thoughts that lead to unwanted behaviors, so the most effective approach is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP). The goal is for you to regain control over your anxiety rather than it controlling you.
